Shan's Summerization!!!!!

Wow!!! I can't believe I'm here. There were lots of times I didn't think I would be here. I definately spent way over 24 hours on it but maybe that was because I was so far behind on times on the computer and how things work.
One of my very favorite things was Animoto. I just can't wait to get back from Vegas with some pictures so I can do that again. I enjoyed making my igoogle page also. Another thing that I just loved and have already used alot was called playlist. I don't even think that was part of this assignment but I discovered it on someone elses blog that I was looking at so I did it. It's so nice now to hear the music I want to hear with the click of a button. Thanks goes to the person I got that from. I have learn so many new things that I can now use at school and at home. I feel like I am in 2008 now. I do think if another discovery program like this was offered in the future that yes, I would do it. I am going to have a blog this year for the kids and the parents to use and see how that goes.
I have to say I met my goal. I got the hours I needed. I got a new computer. I now have high speed internet. As a gift to myself for meeting my goals, I bought myself a brand new red Ipod Nano to download music to. Yes, I will have music on that airplane to Vegas in 9 more days. If you read my first post, it said my goal this summer was to learn how to download music. IT'S DONE AND VEGAS HERE I COME!!!!!

Thing #21 Animoto

This has got to be the coolest thing I've ever seen. I just played mine over and over. I sure wish I had better pictures and when I get back from my trip, I'm doing it again. It really wasn't even that hard.

Thing #18 Explore Social Networking

I signed up for a myspace page. I hunted for people I know. Found one fifth grade teacher at my school and I found Debbie Swartz. I signed up to be her friend. Haven't heard back yet. Look for my two cute doggies as my picture.
It seems that most of the older students at my school have a myspace page. That's why I didn't put my picture or real name on it. Myspace seems to be for the much younger and Facebook has a little bit older people but I am still too old for either. Myspace does have a lot of options to make your page look nice though. The only real thing I can see for a school would be to keep in touch with each other. I did think people were hard to find unless they just happen to use their real name.

Find me on MySpace and be my friend!

Thing #9 Online image generators

I have to admit, I did have lots of fun with this. I see things like this all the time on message boards and blogs but never knew how to get them. Now I know. Hopefully I can figure out how to put one on here.

Thing #8 Mashups

I joined Big Hugh Labs. Very interesting things on there. Work on spell with Flickr ande puzzle maker. This computer seems to refuse to put photos on here although they are on the computer.
Well look there. That map means I will be in Las Vegas in 19 days from now.

Thing #7 Flickr

I have used Picasa in the past to keep my pictures. I am very frustrated right now because I have worked all day on this and you still don't see a picture, do you? I keep getting a screen after a few minutes that says that it can't display even though I see it on my computer, just not here.

Do you see it now? Well, lets see. Just got a brand new Dell computer and I have Time-Warner high speed internet now. Also, finally put picture in a folder instead of where it was. The babies in that picture, Brown and white dog, Queenie for Queen of the house and Harley DZilla, for Harley-Davidson-Godzilla. Yes, that's what shes like. Doesn't understand the size of her body. She chewed the air conditioner up last week.

Thing #6 Working Out

I found this really neat site that will be great for me personally and for my students at school and their parents. Since I teach physical education, I decided to look under sports. I found this site at www.istats.com.au. It tracks your workouts for you. You can put in whatever workout you want to do or it will suggest some for you. You can do this by yourself or you can join a team that is already there. You also, can create your own team. Wouldn't that be great if some of your students created their own team. After that, you could start getting parents involved in starting their own team. With so much talk lately about the overweight issue in kids and adults, maybe if they joined together on a team, they could motivate each other to workout daily and be more healthy.

Thing # 2 Avatar

Wow!!! I am slow to catch on. It took me hours, yes hours, to set up that avatar. It really helps if I would read instructions first. I do like what I picked out though. That is so me with a tan, diamond sunglasses on the beach. Wish I was that thin. I have 49 more days to work on that part of me.
